Glorious Patriarch

Your pain for glory is insufferably visible.  It's like a cracking damn; the water seeping through the seams like sand through your fingers. As distinguishable as fire raging and fueled by winds cradling the licks of flames. It's tender to hold it in, ignoring that there is burning in your roots. To pretend like there are no thunderous waves crashing behind your avoiding eyes. Like the men before you; glory was found in strength and bravery. But strength and bravery are traits only found in combat.  And so, with the yearning of those prestigious badges you go to war... war with yourself... and war with the world. Your tactic? The fierce water against your sturdy earth. You assemble it so secure, the small fissures are now dry. So you shake yourself bare as well. For the fire; you contest it with your own breath. Expelling your chest as much as your human body will allow. But the flames soar higher. In a final desperate attempt for your victory you breathe deeply. Swallow...

Immortal Ingrid

A Goddess had come to me at the dawn of time. Before I knew what is, or was. She had been there, preparing for me like an unforeseen fate. She did not know my name or my existence, but she cared for the space that was for me to occupy if ever I arrived. My landing was eternal and her preparations never ending.       She took my frail and mangled body and fed it her very own strength. She anointed my feeble mind with balance and comprehension.  When my belly reverberated with screaming famine she fed me her own alter offerings. When my heart became desolate and bitter she filled it with her sacred sweet, amber sap.      She gave me drops of golden wine that would dampen my infinite thirst for consciousness.       She performed these undertakings with such poise and virtue.  But such a greedy disciple I was. For my eyes were always closed, blindly demanding and receiving from my Goddess.      Nev...

Conscience Dormancy

Your weary bones stretched on the supple, bending stems and petals of violets.  Their fragrance whelming around you.  Breathing in deeply, it fills your lungs with warm Spring breeze. The foliage beneath you melting beneath your exhaling skin like buttery suede. The bright midday sunshine kissing your eyelids. Your mind attracted to the voices in the wind; whispering their secrets to the clouds. The trees are their pen pal conduits; swaying and dancing in their concealed speech. You envy the movements, but your soul is commanding you to rest. so rest you do. For when you rest in the future this is where your soul will return.

Whore Beasts

What a strange concept; man and woman. The fierce battling of the sexes, the endless gender wars.          Were you not conceived betwixt the thighs of a whore? Was it not from the breast of that "weak" creature that you suckled and grew from?          You try so carelessly to keep her so small. Are you frightened of her strength? Are you worried that something so soft could possess more power than you? Why do you feel so threatened?          Is it because you kept her hidden away: locked in the shadows?           But in your victorious celebration for the land of man you have not been keeping a watchful eye.  You see, secured in darkness she has made love to the demons you placed in her prison. Her vision adjusted to the cimmerian shade. For now it pierces through the most bleak egos.          Her tongue di...

The Sculpture and the Crone

Once upon a time, there was a compassionate girl... The girl had so much heart, she meddled with the Gods of love. Playing games around there sacred ceremonies and poking fun at the seriousness of Fate Handling. So they tried to rid the girl of her large heart and decided to send her false suitors and mates.  As the years passed her heart dwindled... And where her heart sat only a small ice block remained. A stumpy remnant where her love used to lie. Frozen in time. She became a bitter Crone. She grew feeble of this. She traveled to the highest mountain she could scale and at the top she declared... roaring... She would never love again. She would never fall smitten. Never would she be punished by infatuation. No enchantments. No fervor. No sentiments. NEVER. Tears cascading down her pale, pain bitten cheeks. And with her vow conceded, she crumbled to her knees. For years she sat atop that mountain cursing the heavens and the hands of love. Her howling so loud ...

The Rose

In a forlorn world of indistinguishable roses, you were the delicacy. With your disheveled petals and your mortal thorns. I reflected on preservation; wanting to cover you in glass and abstain the lurking and observed elements.     Your beauty left me staggered. Your soul spoke of vigor and tenacity. Your heart wept and howled it's mighty tenderness in secrecy. it was this that prompted me to survey the gardens. Bewildered I was positioned in the midst of calamity. For the garden retained only monotonous copies of one another. There was no viability there. But when i bent me head to the sunrise; it was in the colors i bore witness to your petals. In the sting of the midnight stars I watched your docile thorns. It was in the birth of the sun that you manifested yourself... amidst all of the divination and alchemy I gawked in reverence. For you were my rose and there stood no other like you.  "A modest ode to the Prince and his Creator"

Idolizing False Existence

I knew a man, like the back of my hand (which once held a small cute freckle). I knew his name, his story and i shared his present. I revered this man. I held him so close to my heart that without him there, I felt as if there was no safety. My endearment and worship was cut short after 19 years. The bitterness of death's cold grip had snuffed out the golden light i shrouded that man in; and in the quietness of one beings sleep, he slipped away from the cruelty of this world.     It had felt as though when his life ended as did mine with it. I fell from the warmth of that golden light right into a bottle of whatever proof i could land in. Nobody prepares you for death. There is no manual for grievance. Your heart and your mind become tangled and your breathing becomes shallow, then your body runs off instinct. This is when your mistakes happen, when you're spinning out of control trying to find the Earth because the Universe is suffocating you.  ...
